We have had several days without school in the last month and a half due to the holiday vacation, snow and ice, as well as teacher in services, and I have heard "I'm bored!" way too much. I printed this off and when someone comes whining to me, I just point to it. If they say they have completed everything on the list, I simply ask them to confirm what they did to be creative or the book they read or the service they did and I ask them if they were not bored doing whichever task. If they say no, then I suggest they do that again. So far, the number of incidents of whining about boredom has been on the decline in my house. Happy mom!
