As a homeschooling Mom of 3 and Foster Mom to many, I have an extremely busy schedule. With as many as 7 therapies in a week, plus many people who visit the foster children in our home, and the kids visiting their biological families. Not to mention the schools work and extracurricular activities throughout the week. It's a daunting task to keep everything straight.
When life was a little more simple I could just remember everything, and not have to write much down. I did use a wall calendar for a while, but that felt like my life was on display when others were in my kitchen.
I was so excited when a friend of mine got me a new planner, I had no idea how amazing this planner would really be. With the help of my wonderful planner I'm able to meal plan, budget, take notes in meetings and church all in the same place as my daily tasks.
One feature that particularly comes in handy for me is the children's clothing sizes as well as the gift ideas and holiday planning. With lots of growing little kids, and with Foster kids coming and going, remembering shoe sizes and what they want for Christmas or birthdays can get hard. Being able to keep it all together in a beautiful way is so helpful.
Many people around me notice I always have it with me, and it really keeps my life in order. When someone asks if I'm free next Wednesday I can easily open my book and know what I have planned.
As a family, we have family meeting to plan, talk about important things going on in life, or just to check in. We use the pages in the planner to remember what everyone's jobs are or what goals we set. It also helps everyone in the family to know what is expected and stay accountable.
Being in such a busy stage in life, I'm grateful for the quotes on the dividers throughout the planner as well. It helps keep me grounded and remember things outside of the daily grind. I love that I can keep track of my personal goals to better myself amidst the swirling world around me.
